My name is (not) Alissa. I have lived my whole life in the Midwest of the U.S. I have 3 children. I have chosen the name outrunning my demons because I am a runner and have a lot of demons that I am running from. I am currently training for my first marathon. I was born in the 1970’s. I grew up the oldest of 3 younger brothers. My parents had us 4 children within 5 years. My oldest younger brother was violently autistic as a child. A lot of my blogs are reminiscent of this time in my life. I am trying to be brutally honest about this with myself and everyone else for the first time in my life. I am an introvert and did not start speaking in front of people until I was 30. I can be moody and melancholy. I am a bit of a control freak, but that shouldn’t effect the reader as I have been married since the 1990’s, poor man. I love using humor to entertain. I am college educated and work with my husband in our own professional business. I am a Christian, but am sane about it. I am a nonconformist, I prefer to have the facts and make up my own mind. I love adventure and eccentric people, boredom kills me. I am industrious, laziness is a big pet peeve for me. I love the music of Pink Floyd, with alternative music being my favorite genre.
In my free time I run , sing, read psychological thrillers, write, travel, take pictures and just enjoy life with my family.
Hello, I recently found your blog on accident and I wanted to let you know that I have really enjoyed your updates.
Keep writing! š

yes….I’m a runner, a parent of 2 autistic adult children, so all of us are struggling through life and figuring this out. I’m older, an older runner so, will be following your blog with a lot of interest..
